identity rebranding

In 2015, the Instituto Tecnológico y de Energías Renovables (Technological and Renewable Energies Institute) accomplished 25 years as an international reference organization in the use of renewable energies along with its important investigations on other research fields, constributing to the improvement of the socio-economic development of the Canary Islands.

To celebrate these 25 years, a rebranding of the organization’s identity was undertaken. This is the first revision of the brand since ITER was founded in 1990. The new corporate identity was presented in a commerative event to mark the 25th anniversary of the organization. This event took place on the 16th September 2015  at ITER’s Visitor’s Centre and counted with the presence of D. Ricardo Melchior Navarro (President of ITER and the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife from 1990 to 2013) and D. Carlos Alonso Rodríguez (current President of the Cabildo).

Apart from designing the new combination mark a complete rebranding project was launched: stationary design, advertising, signalling and a new corporate website.

The ITER brand identity evolution

ITER’s new identity reflects the current organizational personality. Over the last years, ITER’s activity has diversified towards other sectors engaging in important engineering, telecommunications and software development projects. This is why the identity rebranding reflects the current influence of the organization in both the renewable energies and engineering / new technologies sectors.

The colour palette consists primarily of two hues: laurel green and grey stone. Both colours were carefully chosen to perceive a natural and ecological colour palette due to its soft and low saturation tints. Green colours transmit balance and delights the eye. When used as a corporate colour palette it represents growth, peace and is highly associated to organizations that are environmentally friendly.
